Hey, I’m John – Husband, daddy, and very possibly your new favourite wedding photographer … Right? That’s right. I’m based in the incredible city of Glasgow, Scotland, with my wife and our three kids – Sammy, Lily & Rox (a “dog” apparently).

I photograph weddings all over Scotland and beyond – always happy to hit the road for good energy and good people. 

My approach to wedding photography is relaxed, natural, and documentary at its core. No stiff posing, no awkward instructions, zero cringe and no pretending your wedding is a styled shoot. Nope … Drinks spilled, wild hair and life in full swing – the good stuff lives in the mess. That’s right my friends. I’m there for the candid, unposed moments – the honest stuff – the sore belly laughs, the quiet glances, the chaos, and the joy that happens when people you love are thrown together in one place.

Yep, the days of boring, traditional wedding photography are long gone. I’m into colourful, creative, vibrant weddings that feel easy and unapologetically you. Days that are warm, inclusive, full of life and rooted in real feeling – not timelines, rules, or expectations.

   Remember that nowadays a wedding can pretty much be anything you want it to be – relaxed, natural, joyful, fun, unposed, and completely non-traditional if that’s your bag. You want your dog as your Best-Man? Go for it. Dresses that show off your tattoos? Hell yeah. Gummy rings? A break-‘first’-dance battle? You wanna make a snow aisle and come firing down on a sledge? Word. How about an intimate wedding in your grandparent’s garden – easy, honest, and full of real moments? Or elope to that tiny island on the water as the rain absolutely pours down? Make that happen.

   Hey man, did you hear about that woman that married the ghost of a 300-year-old Haitian pirate and then divorced him through an exorcism? ☠️

   Well, you get the idea. Nothing’s really off limits here so go and make it simple, heartfelt and completely your own.

I’ve been a full-time wedding photographer for over 12 years now. I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings all across Scotland and to this day, I still feel unbelievably lucky to call this my job. From cold, gritty city weddings to warm, rustic country ones. Concrete and neon or fields and fairy – I’m here for all of it. 

My ideal couples care deeply about their family and mates – they’re the reason the day matters. I focus on photographing and preserving the people, the relationships, and all the little personalities that show up in front of the camera, without asking anyone to perform – the way they really are, not the way they’re supposed to be.

So here’s to all of you who plan to love hard and throw one hell of a party. This is what matters most – and I’ve got you all big time.

   I take a huge amount of pride in the work I put out into the world. Not just how it looks, but how it feels.

   I care deeply about you, and about every single person who shows up for you on your wedding day. I want people to feel seen, comfortable, and genuinely themselves – no stiffness, no pressure, no pretending. I’m there to look out for YOU, keep things easy when plans shift and do everything I possibly can to make sure that your wedding photography experience feels calm, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable.

   This isn’t just about delivering beautiful photos. It’s about showing up, giving a damn and being someone you trust to do the job properly, without ego or performance – so when you look back, it all feels just as real as it did in the moment.

   “What can I say about John? It’s taken me ages to write my thoughts – not because I couldn’t think of nice things to say but purely because it’s hard to put into words how great John is on so many levels.

   We had been searching for a photographer for ages who could capture natural, candid moments of the day and came across Johns work and instantly fell in love with his photography and all round style. After speaking with him we felt he was the first photographer to actually “get” us as a couple, appreciate the fact we didn’t want too many staged photos and actually listened to our thoughts and wishes for the day. As soon as we got talking to him we knew he would be perfect for our day.

   On the actual wedding day John was an absolute legend! He fitted in perfectly with our wedding. It was weird – you really don’t notice him taking photos until the moment that you actually need him and then he just seems to be there. He’s got a remarkable talent for blending into the back ground when he wants to but two seconds later he will be there, chatting and laughing with guests while still snapping away.

   Nothing about John is forced – neither with him personally or his photography style. He makes you feel at ease and doesn’t make you do anything your not happy with. He has a knack of reading you as a couple and making the experience exactly how you want it to be.

   The end results were insane! John managed to some how capture our entire wedding absolute perfectly and the photos were exactly how we pictured them before hand. What’s great about his style is that it gives you a little insight into little events that may have been going on during your wedding that you missed as you were doing something else. John manages to provide a wholesome, accurate, unforced, unposed and fun reflection of one of the best days of your life.

And he’s an absolute dude.”
